Ryukyu Team-Building Program
Melt the invisible walls inside your team —
in just two hours.
An experiential team program built around the traditional Okinawan dance “Kagiyade-fu”: observe, think, divide roles, practice and perform — all within a limited time. A joint program with Ryukyuan dancer Miki Kurohama.
Do these challenges sound familiar?
- Weak coordination between departments slows down work
- Junior staff hold back and rarely speak up
- A gap in perspective between managers and the field
- Training effects fade by the next day
- Social events alone do not deepen relationships
- You want team building that is not stiff or formal
- You want natural opportunities for staff to talk
- You are looking for training with a distinctly Okinawan experience
In most cases the cause is not a lack of ability, but a lack of opportunities to know each other and to interact in a safe setting. Communication is learned through experience, not knowledge.
Ryukyuan dance as an enjoyable gateway to real teamwork
Participants split into teams, interpret the meaning of the lyrics, observe the dance, assign roles, practice within a limited time and finally perform. This is not just dancing — everything in this program mirrors the teamwork required in a real workplace.
- Think from limited information
- Communicate clearly to others
- Identify strengths and assign roles
- Complete the deliverable within the time limit
- Work toward the goal as one team
- Reflect and share improvements
Duration: 2 – 2.5 hours / team-versus-team experiential program
